Delivering Homes Not Housing

2 March 2011

EdenFold Housing Association continues to deliver new homes to those in need of quality yet affordable housing throughout the Province. With over 400 new homes commenced on site this year, Fold hopes to deliver another 100 plus new homes on site by the end of 2011.

This year we have seen many new tenants benefit from new homes in various localities including; Clough, Newtownabbey, Carrickfergus, Crossmaglen and Belfast to name a few.
Lynsay Whillock, Acting Director of Development commented, “We work closely with Fold’s Housing Team, the NIHE and the local communities when we develop new homes. This ensures that we provide the right mixture of housing to meet the needs of the community, whilst enhancing the area and creating sustainable communities. In our recent new build scheme in Ardglass we retained existing trees and planted several semi-mature trees, creating a seArdglassnse of ownership and place for the new tenants. To encourage local wildlife, bat and bird boxes were provided and hedgerows and local flora and fauna were reinstated.
We believe the new homes breathe new life into communities and create a safe and environmentally friendly living environment that benefits our tenants and the wider community"
