Irene Peartree took a step into the unknown at the age of 68 when she decided to Zip Line across the Lagan River for Macmillan Cancer Support. With support from her friends at Rathain Fold, in Colerain, not only did Irene Zip across the Lagan, she raised £1,550 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Joanne Young, Fundraising Manager at Macmillan says ''what can I say about Irene, what a daredevil fundraiser.Irene took on the challenge of a zip line across the lagan, not only did she face her fears and go up in a crane 150ft above the lagan, to Zipline across, but she has also raised in excess of £1500 for the pleasure. We are so appreciative of Irene and indeed all at Fold Housing Association for the support they are showing to Macmillan Cancer Support and raising vital funds for people living with cancer here in Northern Ireland''

Eileen Patterson, Director of Housing added,''the generosity of all our staff and residents in Fold never ceases to amaze me. The money that Irene has raised will make a real difference to the lives of people living with cancer and their families.''
