Each year in Fold, we invite pupils from a school to enter our Corporate Chistmas Card Competition. This year we linked with Glenveagh School, Harberton Park Belfast, in memory of the late Brendan Henry. Brendan was a member of Fold's Board and was also on the Board of Governors of Glenveagh, so we had a link through Brendan who was a great supporter of both the school and Fold.
Almost 30 children entered the competition and the standard of artwork submitted was tremendous - it was very difficult to choose one winning design, but after much discussion and debate, Fold chose a beautiful image of Christmas baubles by Christopher Hughes which used marbling ink. Christopher's image has been reproduced on Fold Housing Association's Corporate Christmas Card for 2014.
2nd Prize went to Tanya Shaw. Tanya's picture, entitled ˜A Child's Christmas Wish' featured a very festive scene complete with ice skating children and 3rd Prize went to Vincent Crossin. His picture featured Christmas Robin's having fun in the snow. We were delighted that Brendan's wife Moyra joined us to present the prizes at Glenveagh's Christmas Assembly along with Fold's Chief Executive, John McLean and Director of Housing, Eileen Patterson The children put on a fantastic show of festive songs, poety and music.
We would like to wish all the pupils and teachers at Glenveagh a Merry Christmas and a peaceful New Year.
