Ardrigh Fold celebrated Fold Housing Association’s 40th anniversary with a Garden Party attended by Thomas Hogg, Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey at the sheltered housing scheme at Sally Gardens, Newtownabbey on Thursday 2 June.
Jennifer Dickson, Fold’s Floating Support Coordinator said, “We love a get-together here at Ardrigh Fold. We were delighted that over 80 of our tenants from Ardrigh and St Brigid’s Folds, Floating Support clients, family and friends, the Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Thomas Hogg, were able to join us with our Chief Executive, John McLean for our Garden Party to celebrate Fold’s 40th anniversary. We had glorious weather which just made the day even more special.
“Everyone enjoyed the BBQ and the beautiful cake and celebratory cupcakes. Music was provided by Dave Lee and harpist Emer McAuley, so there was some singing and dancing too. Kathleen Moran won the best dressed lady prize and George Mercer for best dressed man.
She added, “Special thanks to the Tenants’ Committee at Ardrigh and Fold staff and the floating support team for organising a great event. Thank you to everyone who donated prizes for our ballot. We are thrilled that we collected over £400 for Fold’s corporate charity partner, the Alzheimer’s Society.”
John McLean, Chief Executive of Fold said, “Our 40th anniversary is an achievement to be celebrated by everyone in the Fold family. Fold was established by the response of a group of committed volunteers to meet housing and care needs of older people and has grown to become a provider of housing, care and support to over 30,000 homes, employing over 850 staff and managing over 6500 apartments and houses in 60 towns across Northern Ireland.
He added, “As Chief Executive, I am proud of everything that Fold has achieved over the last 40 years and I thank our tenants, residents, clients, board and staff members and all the organisations, bodies and partners that support our work. It is their continued dedication and commitment that has ensured our longevity and puts us in a great position to meet the challenges of the next 40 years.”
