Radius is delighted to congratulate Margaret Peacock, Director of Fibromyalgia Support Northern Ireland, on receiving an MBE in recognition of her outstanding services and dedication for over 40 years supporting people living with fibromyalgia and supporting local communities across Northern Ireland.
Margaret attended Windsor Castle, where she was presented with the honour by HRH The Prince of Wales during an official investiture ceremony. The award recognises her many years of commitment, advocacy and support for individuals and families affected by fibromyalgia, as well as her wider community work in the Coleraine area.
The recognition comes as Margaret continues to make a positive impact in local communities, including through a series of successful events organised at Rathain Fold in Coleraine such as hosting Christmas lunches through out the years.
Speaking during an interview with Fuse FM Radio following the award, Margaret said:
"I am deeply honoured to have been awarded an MBE for services to the community in Coleraine, County Londonderry. This recognition truly belongs to our whole community, whose kindness, spirit, and willingness to look out for one another make everything possible.
"I want to especially acknowledge Colin McLarty, Debbie Davis, and Claire Sugden for sharing the stories of my work over the years. Their support has helped shine a light on the needs of seniors and vulnerable people in our area."
Margaret’s humility and dedication are reflected in her words, highlighting the collaborative community spirit that has been at the heart of her work for many years.
Everyone at Radius Housing extends their warmest congratulations to Margaret on this well-deserved achievement and thanks her for the invaluable contribution she continues to make to the lives of residents and communities across Northern Ireland.
