Another Milestone Moment for the Gasworks
Radius Housing was delighted to mark a significant milestone this month with the successful handover of 18 new homes at the Gasworks development in Belfast. This moment represents the latest step in delivering high‑quality, sustainable housing within one of the city centre’s most important regeneration sites.
The Gasworks housing development spans two distinct sites within the wider Gasworks Northern Fringe masterplan. As one of the last remaining brownfield sites of scale in Belfast City Centre, the scheme is a landmark project that will ultimately provide 60 houses and 34 apartments.
Designed around a return to traditional street patterns, the development prioritises community, neighbourhood identity, and long‑term placemaking. The red‑brick 2, 3 and 4‑bed terraced homes are carefully detailed and accented with dark grey windows and tiled roofs, creating a cohesive and timeless architectural character. Apartments are arranged across both sites in small‑scale, three‑storey blocks, each with own‑door access to reinforce a sense of ownership and belonging among residents.
As part of the handover celebrations, Radius welcomed members of the Market Development Association, who have played a vital role throughout the consultation process. Their insight and engagement have helped shape a scheme that reflects the aspirations of the local community, making their presence at this milestone especially meaningful.
The delivery of these first 18 homes marks real progress in transforming the Gasworks into a vibrant new neighbourhood at the heart of Belfast. We look forward to seeing residents make these homes their own as the wider development continues to take shape.
