Radius Housing is delighted to have been recognised at the RTPI Awards 2026, winning for our Tates Avenue development in South Belfast and receiving a commendation for the transformational St Patrick’s Barracks project in Ballymena.

The award-winning Tates Avenue scheme is a high-quality, sensitively designed infill residential development that delivers 47 much-needed social homes within the existing urban area. The development comprises two four-storey apartment blocks providing homes for approximately 135 people currently on the housing waiting list, helping to address housing need while supporting sustainable urban growth.

This recognition reflects the strength of partnership working and the commitment of all those involved in creating well-designed places that have a lasting positive impact on communities.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to McGirr Architects Ltd, particularly Conor McGirr, Paul Hetherington and Barry O’Donnell, whose expertise, creativity and dedication were instrumental in the success of the Tates Avenue project. We also acknowledge the excellent work of Newpark Homes in delivering this important development.

These achievements demonstrate the positive outcomes that can be delivered through strong collaboration, ambitious placemaking and a shared commitment to meeting housing need across Northern Ireland.
