Following a £4million investment, Radius Housing has reopened its fully refurbished Glenalina Lodge residential care home on the Springfield Road in West Belfast.
The home is registered for the care of older people and those with dementia, providing vital care and support to enhance the wellbeing and daily lives of older people in the local community.
The refurbishment has provided Glenalina Lodge with 50 modern ensuite flatlets, surrounded by beautifully landscaped communal gardens. The result is a state of the art care home which provides a focus on comfort and independent living for residents, while also providing specialist 24-hour care and support.
Radius Housing’s team of trained care staff provide support with activities of daily living including personal care, medication and other medical needs. There are communal lounge areas and a central dining room where both social and leisure activities take place and where meals are served. An activity co-ordinator leads an enjoyable range of engaging and therapeutic activities and a full meals service is provided, catering for special dietary needs. A team of domestic and laundry assistants support with cleaning and laundry. Glenalina Lodge also offers shorter-term respite care for families caring for an older person in their own home.
Glenalina Lodge has already been recognised in the Best of the West awards, where it was shortlisted in the Best Care Home category.
