Join us for this year's Health & Wellbeing Community Information Event at Ards Arts Centre on Friday, 21 August 2026, from 9:30am to 12:30pm.
This event brings together local organisations, services, and community groups to showcase the wide range of support, advice, and resources available across the Newtownards area.
Whether you're looking for information on health services, wellbeing support, community activities, or local initiatives, this is a great opportunity to meet organisations that are committed to improving the health and wellbeing of our community.
Guided by the local Advisory Group with the underpinning ethos of the Good Relation Plans for the area, Ark and Radius Housing worked in partnership to coordinate the event. The Good Relations Plan includes ‘Bridging’ events which are delivered to the wider community to encourage a range of good relations outcomes which include Health and Wellbeing, Education and Training.
Radius Housing are currently developing the Bawnwall Site. At this time, Radius’s Bawnwall scheme is being considered as a potential ‘Housing for All’ scheme and if progressed, it would represent the third ‘Housing for All’ scheme in the local area. Ark Housing has two ‘Housing For All’ developments in Newtownards- Quarry Heights and Frances Mews.
Health and Wellbeing Community Information Event is supported by the Department for Communities and the Northern Ireland Housing Executive’s ‘Housing for All’ Shared Housing Programme. The Programme has its origins in the NI Executive Together: Building a United Community Strategy which reflects the Executive’s commitment to improving community relations and continuing the journey towards a more united and shared society.
Radius Housing has 16 shared housing developments across Northern Ireland and a potential £13.1m will be invested in the Bawnwall shared housing development and associated five-year Good Relations Plan. Ark Housing has 8 shared housing developments across Northern Ireland and £4.2m will be invested in the Frances Street and Quarry Heights shared housing developments and associated five-year Good Relations Plans.
