Radius Housing are pleased to announce they are recipients of the Platinum Tenant Participation Accreditation awarded by Supporting Communities which recognises Radius demonstrates excellence in tenant participation delivering excellent results for tenants and is industry-leading across the sector.
Platinum Accreditation demonstrates strong leadership, innovation, a deep commitment to tenant engagement and a drive for constant improvement. The service is not just good now; it is sustainable and built to stay that way. It contributes to influencing wider practice and policy through shared learning across the sector, which others in the sector should seek to replicate.
“Radius remains a high-performing organisation that embraces and supports engagement. Tenant participation is embedded across Radius. It actively listens to tenants at community and association wide levels; it listens and acts and provides resources to enable engagement”.
In the report, the awarding panel commented, Really excellent practice with tenant involvement in improving repairs, good to see this practice being extended to other services. Evidence that TP is embedded into the organisation from the top, getting involved and understanding TP is in the culture of Radius. Many organisations can learn from this.”
Overall, the Assessors acknowledged the considerable efforts made by Radius in implementing the recommendations arising from the previous accreditation submission. In particular, the assessor was encouraged and impressed by the proposed collaborative work with the NI Youth Forum, as well as the development of the Equality Action Plan, both of which reflect a clear and meaningful commitment to inclusive practice.
In addition, the assessment identified areas for improvement and referred to Radius for consideration. It is evident from the overall submission that the recommendations made during the previous accreditation process have been taken seriously and acted upon. Radius has demonstrated not only that it listens, but that it follows through; translating feedback into tangible improvements. Radius remains deeply committed to excellence in tenant participation.

While we are proud of this achievement, we remain committed to listening, learning and continuously improving for our tenants and communities”
A ‘stand-out’ from the report include “Radius continue to make efforts and develop a series of ongoing initiatives to better engage with young people, ethnic minorities, and other groups who are considered hard to reach”.
The report also highlighted how Radius has a really good focus on communities as well as what impacts all tenants and that Radius respond to community issues, Tenant Satisfaction Surveys untaken annually is excellent, Radius is responding to tenant and community issues timeously.
Radius have developed mechanisms and structures that allow tenants to scrutinise and monitor performance in several ways, including key performance scorecards, regular contract performance updates, published performance information, tenant engagement spending, annual review, customer performance report and financial statements.
