Afternoon Tea Dance Film

05 Nov 2015

Friday 18 September was Culture Night in a number of towns and cities across NI, but the place to be was Holywood!

Fold Housing Association, got into the celebratory mood by hosting an Afternoon Tea Dance for older people in the in the community including tenants from some of our sheltered housing schemes, namely Spafield and Loughview Folds, Loughview Housing with Care Scheme, Ardrigh Fold and clients from our Floating Support service.

Below is the short film we made on the day which captures some of the craic and the atmosphere - We hope you enjoy watching it!

From early morning we set out to decorate the Non Subscribing Presbyterian Church Hall, High St, Holywood, assisted by Barbara Lowry and later joined by Barbara Chappell. Tables were set, napkins folded, flowers arranged, best china set out - ready for tea, cakes and most importantly, our very special guest.  Steve Farlow “ the music man - was eagerly waiting to get the floor filled!
Finally, 3pm came and our guest arrived.  We were delighted to see so many faces we knew and to make new friends from the local community, older peoples groups, friends and families who just popped in to see what was happening. There was a definite buzz in the air and the sound of feet dancing!
Thank you to Knotts and Skinners Bakeries in Holywood who topped up our orders of sandwiches and cakes. Thank you also to Boots Pharmacy who donated beauty products for our spot prize draw.
We''ve had great feedback about the events so watch this space and keep those dancing shoes at the ready!
