£1 million social housing investment unveiled

Press Release 6th September 2018

A £1 million pound investment in social housing was unveiled this week at an event at Ardrigh Fold, located in the heart of Glengormley, Co Antrim. The investment programme, part of Radius Housing’s overall £11.8m investment in maintenance and improvements, saw the facility completely refurbished including full redecoration, improved insulation, replacement doors and kitchens and improved external drainage.

The work was completed in consultation with all residents, who chose their own kitchens, door finishes and door handles. Ardrigh Fold is comprised of 67 self-contained apartments and 8 bungalows, which provide accommodation in total for 80 people. RPP Architects were lead consultants on the project with Brendan Loughran & Sons carrying out the works.

Speaking at the event, John McLean, Chief Executive, Radius Housing said: “Our £1m investment in Ardrigh Fold is testament to our commitment to improve our existing social housing stock right across Northern Ireland. This is an important investment in social housing in Glengormley which has ensured the full modernisation of this scheme which is home to 80 tenants. I am delighted to see the outcome of this investment and the first-class construction workmanship which is on display.”

“Radius is committed to ongoing improvement and modernisation across all our properties and this work is part of an overall £11.8m in investment in homes across Northern Ireland. I would like to thank all those involved in this process, particularly Brendan Loughran & Sons, RRP Architects and our own staff, for their collaborative work approach, and wish our tenants health and happiness in their new home,” he added.
