Diversity Day 2017

To mark the UN International Day for Tolerance,  Radius Housing hosted their third annual Diversity Day.   The showcase supports staff to engage with a range of service providers so they can signpost tenants’ and clients’ and are in a better position to meet their individual needs.

Representatives from AWARE NI, MAP NI, Women’s Aid, YALLAA, The Equality Commission NI, Alzheimer’s Society, Arts Ekta, Nasz Express Polish Magazine, Cedar Foundation and Action Against Hearing Loss supplied useful information and resources for staff as well as offering a taste of different cultures with henna tattoos, and samples of Polish food.

Radius Corporate Assurance Officer and equality champion, Helen Davey said, “At Radius equality, diversity and inclusion is at the forefront of everything we do. Our Diversity Day is a great opportunity for staff to gain an insight into the different services that exist to meet the needs of our diverse tenant base including those from different ethnic backgrounds, those with a disability or an illness.

She added, “The event created a real buzz and it was great to see many staff getting involved by talking to exhibitors to find out about different cultures and issues that are part of some peoples’ every-day life.  

“We are very grateful to all the exhibitors for attending an helping make Diversity Day at Radius another successful event.”
