Fold Family Christmas Appeal

09 Nov 2016

Fold Housing Association have been overwhelmed with its annual Fold Family Christmas Appeal to support those in need over the festive season.

Fold’s 800-strong staff , tenants at over 100 Fold schemes and the public  were encouraged to donate toys for children, gifts for young people and non-perishable foods for Christmas hampers over the past few weeks by, today. 9 December.

Eileen Patterson, Fold’s Director of Housing said: “At Fold Housing Association we work with families on a daily basis who will struggle to afford, not only toys and gifts, but also food this Christmas. In our roles as social landlords we have become increasingly aware of the difficulties that some families in our communities are facing and the added pressure they experience coming up to the festive season.

“Our Family Appeal aims to help families in our local communities by providing them with gifts and food hampers that will relieve some of that added pressure this Christmas. We work in partnership with various established community groups across Northern Ireland to identify and distribute these resources to support families in need.  This year we are working with groups in Bangor, Derry-L''derry and Cookstown where we are building new social housing.”

This is the third year Fold Housing Association have  rune the Family Christmas Appeal, which has proved to be very successful, helping over 200families across Northern Ireland over the past two years and this year the organisation is hoping to double its efforts.

Fold would like to thank all the tenants, staff, family, freinds and partner organisations who have donated to the Family Appeal this year.
