Glenabbey Easter Fun Day

The Easter Bunny hopped into the Glenabbey tenants’ Family Fun day organised by Radius Housing last week much to the surprise of over 40 young guests.

The event brought together residents of Glenabbey and the surrounding areas for a day of Easter themed activities which included face painting, bouncy castle, obstacle course, Easter Hamper raffle and an Easter egg hunt for the children.

Bridie Doherty, Area Housing Manager, Radius Housing said, “Community events such as this one are very important in that they give our younger tenants the chance to meet and play with other children and for the grown-ups to get together to talk about issues relevant to their community, as well as meeting the wider community in an informal setting.

She added, “At Radius Housing we are committed to building sustainable communities through a range of new and innovative services delivered in partnership with local people alongside our established tenant engagement programme.”
Nicola Mullan, Glenabbey Residents Association said, “We were delighted to work alongside Radius Housing for this event which has been weeks in the making. We were thrilled with the turnout of the residents and their families and the feedback from participants has been very positive. We look forward to more family orientated events like this in the future.”

Karen Montgomery (Community Coordinator)  organised an Easter Fun Day for tenants of North Howard Street, Belfast. This took place in Dunville Park, and Fusion Heating kindly sponsored the event and donated Easter eggs and gifts to all the children from the scheme. Karen organised a number of games including a easter treasure hunt. The Children of North Howard street were also joined by the easter bunny to help find all the clues!
