New Vans Supporting People to Live Independently

27 May 2016

Fold Housing Association has taken delivery of ten new custom fitted vans to increase installation and service visits to the homes of 13,000 older people who live independently across Ireland with  the support of Fold’s TeleCare pendant alarm.

The vans will be used by the organisation’s TeleCare Support Officers (TSOs) who travel 200,000 miles annually to install and maintain personal alarm systems. The new vehicles will help to reduce Fold’s carbon footprint. In the event of an issue the alarm, when pressed, automatically calls Fold’s TeleCare Centre, where a trained advisor offers immediate reassurance and support. The response Centre answers approximately 120,000 calls per year.
