During Positive Ageing Month 2024, we celebrate our older residents and service users and their contributions to our communities.
This annual recognition, held throughout October, encourages individuals, families, and organisations to reflect on the importance of healthy ageing and the resources available to support ageing with dignity, vibrancy, and resilience.
Positive Ageing Month was created to inspire a cultural shift in how society views aging and to promote wellness programs that improve the health, independence, and overall quality of life for older adults. Each October, the initiative highlights the importance of creating supportive communities that embrace aging with vitality and inclusivity.
Positive Ageing Month also serves as a platform to raise awareness about the challenges that come with aging, including loneliness, financial insecurity, and health disparities. This year's campaign seeks to tackle issues with ageism and create more age-friendly communities through improved policies, support systems, and infrastructure that enhance the independence and well-being of older citizens.
Radius are actively leading in this area by launching their first Age Friendly Strategy in October 2024.
This strategy will not only highlights the great work of Radius for older residents, but also emphasises the challenges and priorities over the next 3 years and what we hope to achieve in the future.
