The Department for Infrastructure, Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, Police Service of Northern Ireland and Derry City and Strabane District Council are continuing to work together on the clean-up operation following last night’s unprecedented flooding in the North West.
As the flooding clean-up operation continues, hundreds of staff from across the agencies are working with local communities to reopen roads, pump water and clean up residential homes and business properties.
With more than 30 roads identified to date as having been affected by flooding and damage, and further assessments to be made, the agencies are asking local people to take care when travelling, abide by road closure signage and avoid areas which have flooded until the damage can be fully assessed.
The agencies are grateful for the patience of the public as they continue to carry out this urgent work.

Update from Radius Housing
Radius Housing has 35 homes in Rossnagalliagh Park in Derry. Nine (9) of these homes have been effected by the unprecedented flooding that was experienced in the City yesterday. Our Communities and Assets teams have been out on site from early this morning to ascertain flood damage to our tenants’ homes and to offer support. The appropriate contractors have been instructed to attend the properties and urgently carry out any remedial works required and we are providing dehumidifiers to anyone who needs them. We will be working proactively to ensure our tenants’ homes are restored as quickly as possible.
Radius tenants effected by the floods should contact us at 0330123 0888.
