Radius has Designs on Innovative Development to Meet Housing Demand

Radius'' Development team recently showcased their innovative development approaches and opportunities in a bid to work smarter with developers, architects, estate agents and other industry professionals across Northern Ireland. 

Anita Conway, Director of Development, said, “Radius aims to deliver around 400 new high quality, energy efficient social homes annually, as well as developing both affordable and private housing projects. We are leading the way in mixed tenure housing in Northern Ireland with our Fort Green affordable housing scheme at Rathgill in Bangor and plans are well advanced for two further mixed tenure developments.

She added, “It is vital that we step up and deliver more new high quality homes to meet the demand throughout Northern Ireland. We believe that this first showcase event will help us forge new and strengthen existing partnerships; encourage more developers to work with the Housing Association sector and identify more mutually beneficial development opportunities.

“Radius Housing develops homes throughout Northern Ireland, commencing, on average, around 400 new homes a year which contributed over £50m per year to the construction industry and helps sustain many jobs within the building industry.”

The breakfast showcase highlighted different development options employed by Radius Housing and focussed on their successful Design and Build model which has proven to be popular and effective with developers, presenting an efficient and productive delivery solution for future housing. The Radius Housing team were joined by guest speakers Darren Costello, Managing Director, Silverwood Property Developments Ltd; Dermot O''Hagan, Lead Partner, JNP Architects and Vincent Bradley, Commercial Director BW Homes and Construction Ltd, who gave an overview of their own experiences of working with the Association on Design & Build projects.
