Radius’ Helen Davey shortlisted for Diversity Award

15 Jan 2018

We are delighted that Helen Davey, Corporate Assurance Officer at Radius Housing has been shortlisted for Individual Diversity Champion at the Legal Island Equality and Diversity Awards.

This nomination builds on the inaugural Equality & Diversity Award for the charity sector which the organisation achieved (pre-merger) from Legal Island.

Helen is widely known throughout the organisation as the Equality Champion.  Her role in the Corporate Assurance team covers research, equality and performance management.  She facilitates equality consultations and is instrumental in the reporting and adherence to the Equality Scheme and the organisation’s statutory commitments. She also manages Diversity Day, an annual S75 Equality event which equips staff with resources and signposting for dealing with a diverse range of clients

Denise Burns, Corporate Assurance Manager, said, “Helen is the epitome of a Diversity Champion, not only for Radius and the tenants and customers we serve, but more broadly in her dedication to fairness and raising awareness of the importance of equality and diversity. We are thrilled that she has been recognised with a nomination for this prestigious award and wish here every success for the awards evening.”

The awards, in their second year of running, will take place on 23rd March at the Titanic Museum, Belfast.

Others shortlisted in this category are Teresa McDonough (Habinteg)  – Anne Anderson (Newbridge Integrated College), Lilian Seenoi (North West Migrants Forum), and Adele Davidson (NI Fire & Rescue Service).
