Scrabo Manor helps to grant wishes

26 Jun 2015

Helm Housing residents were delighted to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation with a fundraiser held at Scrabo Manor on Tuesday 24 June.  The charity Bring & Buy Sale was organised by staff and tenants at the Newtownards scheme. A total of £201.15 was raised on the day.

Julia Colling, Scheme Coordinator at Helm Housing said The tenants and I were thrilled to support such a great charity, and are over the moon with the amount of money raised towards such a worthy cause.  It is great to see so many residents from Scrabo Manor, Scrabo Glen and the surrounding community support our fundraiser.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a non-profit organisation, existing to grant wishes, usually involving arranging unique experiences, to children and young people fighting life-threating conditions.

Scrabo Manor is a Supported Housing Scheme owned by Helm Housing in Newtownards. A Scheme Coordinator is employed to support residents and help them identify areas where they can work together with their communities.

Helm Supported Housing Manager Sharon Hyndman added We at Helm are delighted to be able to contribute to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.  Not only did this event help raise over £200 for a great charity, but it strengthens the ties between our tenants and the local community who came along to show their support.
